Sanguinelli (15 Jan. – 15 Apr.)
This orange variety is different to the rest because of its reddish colour, which is also enhanced through low temperatures in the ripening period. The fruit is very attractive, small in size and with a good consistency. The peel is harder. It is small but has lots of flavour.
Its flavour and aroma are more intense than those of a normal orange, and it has a high juice content which is reddish in colour. It also has few seeds (between 2 and 4 per orange).
Its most important benefit is its antioxidant properties, which are relatively rare in citrus fruit. Often known as the red orange.
